About

Meet Emalee

Hi, I’m Emalee. I’m so glad you’re here.

I never thought I’d be a therapist, but as life happens we often end up right where we’re supposed to be, so here we are and I am immensely grateful. I value strong relationships, deep connection, and believe everyone deserves to have their voice heard. Being a therapist allows me to live these values everyday.

I know it’s not easy to be vulnerable, but you’re here because you’re ready for things to change. Maybe you're burning the candle at both ends, still trying to balance it all. Perhaps getting pregnant is actually a lot harder and more lonely than you thought, or you're a new parent feeling completely overwhelmed. You might just feel lost in the hustle and aren’t sure who you even are anymore. Whatever your struggle, you're not alone. You're here because you’re ready to live a more full, authentic life. You deserve support to help you get there.

I specialize in individual and couples therapy for adult men and women who are experiencing anxiety, relationship challenges, or struggles with perfectionism, burnout and identity-loss. As a certified perinatal mental health clinician, I’m also particularly interested in helping people navigate the ups and downs of conception, pregnancy and postpartum.

My relational approach integrates warmth, humor and authenticity to foster a genuine sense of connection. As a former college soccer player, I also believe in the power of teamwork. In therapy, I really see us working together as a team to improve your well-being. And like any good teammate, we might sometimes disagree but I’ll always have your back.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois and Utah. Before private practice, I worked in various nonprofit and academic settings on issues related to community violence prevention and social impact. I earned a dual master’s degree in public health and social work from the University of Illinois Chicago. In addition to my graduate education, I have completed specialized training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, a leading research-based approach to couples therapy, and hold an advanced Certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) from Postpartum Support International.
